Sunday Scraps #11
A little bit of this and a little bit of that
Hello!
Happy Sunday and thanks again for all the people who keep reading this thing. I’ve been working on a long read this week that I might put out next week too. So there’s that.
This week I did a bunch of things!
I came back from New York last Sunday.
I edited.
I went on RTE2 FM and co-hosted a show with the lovely Beta Da Silva where I put together a playlist of favourite songs and talked about them. Here’s the playlist. It’s unfortunately on Spotify which I am now leaving. Is anyone else? And if so, where are you moving to?
On Thursday I caught up with some pals and went to see Lucy Dacus in Iveagh Gardens. It was a brilliant show, made even more brilliant by a surprise appearance by SOAK on stage.
I played Hibernacle Festival, a beautiful new festival based in the Dublin Mountains (not far from where I grew up). I’ve never played a stage that overlooked Dublin city before and it was very special and very beautiful.
The vibe at independent festivals, in my opinion, is so superior to the big massive ones. There’s a sense of community. You chat to someone and then move along, then run by them again later. It’s how it should be done. Not just 100,000 people ploughing around a field anonymously. I’ve never been a fan of bigger festivals. The exception being Glastonbury because it’s exceptionally well run and feels like 100 small festivals all sewn together!
Here’s a clip of the always delightful, hilarious and inspiring Pillow Queens playing their headline slot.
Work(s) In Progress:
The same ol’ same ol’.
Hoping to release a few bits from the new album before the end of the year. So that’s exciting.
Stuff I’ve Been Staring At/Listening To:
On my trip home from New York I got into that show Fallout.
It’s fascinating how many TV shows are coming out based on video games. Although, the stories in games are often so layered it makes sense. I really enjoyed this one!
Some little themes on safety/freedom though out.
Check it out:
I also just really love Walton Goggins.
That’s it from me!
Catch y’all next weekend x

Walton Goggins is the GOAT
If you have a lot of self made playlists like me, there are services you can use to transfer them to another platform. I used soundiiz.com to transfer my 300+ playlists from Spotify to Apple and it worked great. I am planning to try Tidal also. The biggest difficulty in switching services is having to re-favorite the hundreds of artists that I have followed on Spotify so that I know when they release new music.
